Families are often unprepared for the challenges of caregiving and are faced with decisions that seem difficult or overwhelming. We understand these challenges and guide our families to solutions with knowledge and compassion. Melissa Murphy, CDP, CMC

Melissa Murphy, a dedicated Aging Life Care Professional ®, Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), and Certified Care Manager (CMC), is the esteemed Founder and CEO of our organization. With over a decade of profound experience in the aging field, Melissa stands as a beacon of expertise and compassion.

Melissa’s journey in eldercare began in senior housing where she uncovered a common trend among families. They were overwhelmed, underprepared, and in dire need of professional guidance. Melissa knew she had an opportunity to meet this need through unbiased advocacy with her expertise in various facets of eldercare, including care management, housing solutions, dementia care, and care consulting.

As a testament to her unwavering dedication to excellence in dementia care, Melissa is certified in Teepa Snow’s renowned “Positive Approach to Care” for individuals with dementia as well as a certified dementia practitioner. She holds the highest credentials available in aging life care as a certified care manager and advanced professional member of the Aging Life Care Association ®

Melissa’s influence extends beyond her professional endeavors; she is an active member of the Profound Mastermind Group, recognized as Upstate NY’s “brightest minds and most ambitious doers.” This affiliation underscores her continuous pursuit of personal and professional development while contributing and lifting the community around her.

Melissa serves as a vital member of the board of directors for Silver Fox Adult Day Centers, where she contributes to their mission and vision. She is also an active member of the Community Living Advocates in Onondaga county, Oswego County, Madison County and Oneida County where she supports and connects with providers in the aging health care field.

Melissa’s work is being seen, recognized and appreciated among the community as she was a 2021 40 under 40 honoree by the CNY Business Journal, Community Living Advocate’s “Network Professional” of 2022 and a nominee for “Onondaga Outstanding Community Member” for 2021 for her work providing lunches to caregivers at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Most recently Melissa is the proud co-founder and vice president of the “Living with Dementia” non-profit organization which provides a community of support through access to resources, education and support for those living with or working with those affected by dementia.

At the heart of Melissa’s philosophy is the belief that every individual, regardless of age, deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and dignity. She is passionate about education and awareness on aging as a whole, and dedicates significant time to speaking to community and employer groups. She Is “The Aging Advocate” in every way, and a visionary leader in the aging community.
